East River Contracting is hiring a full-time Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet, equipment, and small engines.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in fixing problems, and wants to continue growing their mechanical skills in a steady, year-round position. Whether you have years of experience or recently completed a diesel or automotive program, we want dependable people who are willing to learn and work hard.

?? What You’ll Do

• Maintain and repair company vehicles, trailers, equipment, and small engines
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, greasing, filters, and inspections
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel, gas, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and keep crews moving
• Track service intervals and identify maintenance needs before breakdowns happen
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment

?? What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical experience or technical training in diesel, automotive, or equipment repair
• Preferred to have direct experience as a diesel mechanic
• Basic understanding of engines, tools, and preventative maintenance
• Willingness to learn and continue developing mechanical skills
• Ability to work independently and stay organized
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license required
